2023 Bergen County Homeownership Fair to Take Place Saturday, June 17th at Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe
Hackensack, N.J. – Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco has announced that the 25th Annual Bergen County Homeownership Fair will take place on Saturday, June 17th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe which is located at 100 Frank W. Burr Boulevard in Teaneck. This annual event is sponsored and organized by the Bergen County Division of Community Development and admission is free.
“We are incredibly excited to hold our 25th Annual Homeownership Fair this year,” said County Executive Tedesco. “This event is a source of such valuable information for anyone looking to purchase a new home in Bergen County, especially for first-time and low-to-moderate income families. To have a roof over your head is one of the most basic of human rights, and we are proud to be able to provide these homebuying resources and services to our Bergen County residents.”
“The Bergen County Homeownership Fair is a unique event that gives our residents and future residents an opportunity to learn all of the intricacies that come with buying a home in 2023," said Bergen County Commissioner Chairman Tom Sullivan. "Our goal is to help people get a head start and gain valuable knowledge about the process of buying a home. The Homeownership Fair is a great asset in assuring that these goals are met for first time homebuyers in our great county."
Exhibitors presenting at the Fair will include local realtors, banks, mortgage companies, credit counselors, home inspectors and other experts who will be ready to share advice and answer questions. Several workshops on home buying will also be available for interested Fair attendees with topics ranging from how to obtain a mortgage all the way through to the steps needed to maintain and improve a new home once purchased.
Representatives from the Bergen County Division of Community Development Homeownership Center will be on hand to inform residents about programs that provide down payment assistance and deferred payment loans for qualified first-time homebuyers and deferred payment home improvement loans for qualified homeowners.
In addition to the Bergen County Division of Community Development, the Fair is also sponsored by BCB Bank, Blue Foundry Bank, Bogota Savings Bank, Columbia Bank, Kearny Bank, Lakeland Bank, NVE Bank, Spencer Savings Bank, and TD Bank along with community support from Greater Bergen Community Action and the Fair Housing Council of Northern NJ.
