BERGEN COUNTY TO CELEBRATE COMPLETION OF HABITAT RESTORATION OF TEANECK CREEK PARK

What:  Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of County Commissioners, the Bergen County Parks Department, and the Teaneck Creek Conservancy invite members of the media to Teaneck Creek Park in Overpeck County Park on Wednesday, October 19 for a ceremony to mark the completion of the large-scale habitat restoration project. The project scope included removing a clay capping to enhance the site’s natural resources, increase biodiversity with native grasses, shrubs and trees, implement best stormwater management practices with natural infrastructure, and improve park access by repairing and replacing footbridges and addressing deficient trails that were previously inaccessible due to washouts. Funding for the restoration project came from the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund, NJ Green Acres, and Bergen County Capital Project Funding.
