FEMA SCHEDULES ADDITIONAL DISASTER SURVIVOR ASSISTANCE TEAM VISITS IN BERGEN COUNTY
FEMA representatives are available to help residents apply for disaster relief in-person
(HACKENSACK, NJ) – Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners continue to urge residents and business owners impacted by Hurricane Ida to apply for Federal disaster relief. FEMA is deploying additional Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams to municipalities across Bergen County to answer questions, assist with registration for FEMA Individual Assistance, and conduct inquiries on the status of existing applications. This support is supplemental to the Bergen County Disaster Recovery Center at the Bergen Community College Philip Ciarco Jr. Learning Center in Hackensack. Bergen County residents sustaining damage from Hurricane Ida are eligible to seek assistance at any of the following additional sites below:

Bergen County residents and businesses sustaining losses as a result of Hurricane Ida are eligible to apply for Federal disaster relief after the County received major disaster declaration from President Biden last week. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
Bergen County residents and business owners can also apply for disaster relief directly by visiting www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time).
