BLANKET DONATION FOR AFGHAN REFUGEES
What: The County of Bergen is teaming up with the northern New Jersey chapter of Project Linus to donate locally made blankets to Afghan refugees currently residing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst after fleeing Kabul. Members of the media are invited for a photo-op on Wednesday, September 1 as Bergen County OEM and Project Linus staff pack a truck with the donated blankets.

Additional Information: The North Jersey Chapter of Project Linus (a national non-profit organization) covers all counties in the northern third of the state. The organization makes handmade blankets for children facing some form of trauma. Recipients are usually in hospitals and shelters. To date the organization has delivered over 53,000 blankets.
