COUNTY OF BERGEN – DIVISION OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES
Under direction, performs various field and office work involved in aiding substance abusers in rehabilitation programs and assists them with their problems; does related work as required.
Knowledge and Job Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of psychological and social problems of chemically dependent persons.
- Knowledge of the methods used to gather and analyze information.
- Knowledge of interviewing techniques.
- Knowledge of the principle of social work.
- Knowledge of the public and private resources providing rehabilitation to substance abusers.
- Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of addiction.
- Conducts clinical intakes of new clients using a trauma- informed approach and identifies service needs using evidence-based assessment tools
- Provides clinical services including individual, group, family and didactic psychotherapy sessions for clients with co- occurring diagnosis
- Knowledge of substance abuse disorders and community resources in Bergen County and maintains familiarity with new programs and initiatives within the state and county level.
- Develops comprehensive clinical case management, treatment, and service plan for each patient, integrating knowledge from a wide range of clinical and human service resources.
- Participates in in service trainings and case conferences.
- Participates in community events and conducts presentations to community providers.
- Maintaining client records and documentation in accordance with state/facility regulations.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
- Some evenings
Education Requirements/Other:
- Master’s degree with two years of full-time experience in a substance use treatment facility
- Bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in a substance use treatment facility
- A professional and /or clinical license required: CADC, and/ or LCSW, LCADC, LPC, or LAC
- *Please note that this is an ideal opportunity for candidates seeking Licensure as an LSW, LCADC or LCSW. New clinical hires would be provided with weekly individual and group supervision, with a senior clinician who has an LCADC/LCSW, in accordance with licensure requirements for the supervision pertaining to NJ license obtainment.
